La Higuera
Santa Cruz Department · Culture and history

La Higuera is a tiny mountain village, still almost as it was in October 1967 when Ernesto “Che” Guevara was executed in its school. The old school is now a small museum, and the village is covered in murals and monuments. You can walk to the Quebrada del Yuro, where he was captured.
