Barba Azul reserve
Beni Department · Jungle and tropics

The Barba Azul reserve protects the Beni savannas and forest islands where the blue-throated macaw lives, a parrot found only in Bolivia, of which only a few hundred remain. Run by the Armonía association, it welcomes a small number of visitors to watch the macaws, hundreds of other birds and sometimes the maned wolf. A rare place for nature lovers.
